On June 27, 2018, The post of Ukraine issued 2 marks under the «EUROPA» program. This year bridges were chosen as the theme of the issue.
As part of the «Bridges of Ukraine» series, two postage stamps and two blocks in booklets were issued, as well as first day envelopes and maximum card. On the first day of stamp release, a special postmark was applied for cancellation.
The stamps depict two very different externally, but equally colorful bridges: the Bridge of the Four Evangelists and the Plebanovsky Viaduct.
The Count Schonborn Park, Bridge of the Four Evangelists.
The bridge of the Four Evangelists is located on the territory of picturesque park of Count Schonborn in the Transcarpathian region of Ukraine, not far from the village of Turia Paseka.
The small arched bridge is made in the Baroque style, it pleases the eye with the beauty of the lines and the pomp of the decorative decoration. The railing of the bridge is decorated with carved figures of four evangelists - Matthew, Mark, John and Luke, two figures on each side of the bridge.
The surroundings of the bridge are unusually picturesque, green lawns of the English park, slowly flowing river - time seemed frozen in this place, fascinated by its beauty.
Therefore, it is not surprising that the artist, who worked on the stamps, depicted a light, openwork carriage pulled by a pair of graceful horses near the bridge. It looks very natural in this place, bringing us to the XIX century, the time when this masterpiece of landscape architecture was created and the hooves of horses habitually pounded the paths of the park.
