On March 24, 2020, the San Marino Post issued a series of 4 stamps dedicated to animals.
Domestic animals are one of the most popular topics in philately and different countries regularly issue new stamps on it. However, the San Marino Post was able to offer a new reading of a topic that is well known to all.
The artist Mauro Mazzara has painted very unusual and funny stamps with animal musicians. Looking at the stamps in this series, you will see an absolutely fantastic orchestra: a cat-violinist, a horse-harpist, a dog-guitarist and a trumpet parrot with a post horn. The field of the miniaturel sheets are also decorated in an original and witty manner. Even more funny animals are waiting for us, surrounded by various and unexpected musical instruments.
Mauro Mazzara is a renowned Milanese artist. He works with many publishing houses and advertising agencies as an illustrator and also teaches drawing and painting. In 2019, the artist began collaborating with the San Marino Post, designing several series of postage stamps. In 2020, Mauro Mazzara was offered to develop a new series of animal brands. The result of his creative work has become bright and unusual postage stamps that carry an undoubted charge of positive energy.
I think lovers of stamps with animals will most likely be pleased with the new release.
But will philatelists who collect the theme "music" and "musical instruments" be satisfied with such an unusual replenishment of the collection?
