150th anniversary of the birth of Queen Maud (1869 - 1938)
Historically, the English princess Maud, daughter of King Edward VII of Great Britain and wife of the Danish prince Charles, became the first queen of Norway as an independent state in 600 years. The miniature sheet's stamp features a portrait of Queen Maud, as well as a fragment of a 1911 photograph of Queen Maud and her son, Crown Prince Olaf, on horseback |
