Dragon Dragons are, without doubt, the most popular and recognisable of mythical creatures. Tales of dragons have existed for thousands of years the world over and if asked, most people would be able to describe one in a reasonable amount of detail. This is quite remarkable for a creature that doesn't actually exist. Saint George and the Dragon is a medieval, heroic tale of a beautiful, innocent maiden rescued from an evil dragon by a knight in shining armour.
