Europe. Ancient Postal Routes
In the Middle Ages, a popular postal route passed through the territory of modern Liechtenstein, the name of which can be translated as "Lindauer Bote". It passed through the territory of five countries: Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, Switzerland and Italy. The artist René Wolfinger chose the equestrian postal courier and postal diligence as the subject for the stamps. |
