Triton's fountain
Triton's fountain is one of Caltanissetta's most significant symbols. The Triton Fountain, a monumental work by the sculptor from Caltanissetta Michael Tripisciano (1860-1913) and the architect Gaetano Averna in 1890. The bronze fountain represents a triton leading a sea horse and two monsters. It was originally installed in Camine Palace's interior court and was moved to its current location in Piazza Garibaldi, the city's central square, in 1956. |
