Herlingham is a city and municipality of the same name in the province of Buenos Aires. The city originated and got its name thanks to the sports club "Hurlingham Club". Hurlingham was the first place in Argentina to set up polo fields and play games. The Argentine Polo Association was founded at the club in 1922, the club annually holds a major polo tournament "Campeonato Abierto de Hurlingham".
