Alwin Schockemöhle was a German show jumper and horse breeder. In the 1960s and 1970s, he successfully competed in international show jumping competitions and competed in individual and team events at the Olympic Games (1960 Rome, 1968 Mexico City, 1976 Montreal).

At the European Championships, Alwin Schockemöhle placed second three times, third twice, fourth once, and sixth once before becoming European Champion in 1975 in Munich. He became German Champion four times and reached the podium 27 times in 50 starts at national competitions. He won the Grand Prix at major tournaments 65 times.

Alwin Schockemöhle retired from competition in 1976 due to persistent back problems. Nevertheless, he continued to work in equestrian sports as a trainer and instructor.

In the 1980s, he shifted his focus to breeding sport horses. Alwin Schockemöhle became one of the most successful trotter breeders in Europe. His stud farm is located in Mühlen in Lower Saxony. It is a large complex combining stables, a breeding farm, and a training center with a unique indoor track for training trotters.

Around this time, he and his brother-in-law, Ludwig Willenborg, became co-owners of a company selling (possibly manufacturing) sheet metal and steel mesh in Mülheim an der Ruhr, registering the company Alwin Schockemöhle & Willenborg GMBH & CO KG.

It is possible that the mesh in the background of the stamp design symbolizes the company's activities in the steel mesh industry.

I couldn't find any more detailed information about the company's activities. If anyone has any additional information on this topic, I would be grateful for any materials sent to me.
