On June 28, 2019, the Moldovan Post released the series "Domestic animals", consisting of 4 postage stamps.
Domestic animals are a fairly popular topic in philately. Probably every country ever let out a series with four-legged or feathered inhabitants of farms. This year, Moldova’s post also turned to this topic. The artist Vladimir Melnik created a very pleasant series of 4 stamps with images of popular animals: a goat, a rabbit, a cow and a horse are adjacent to the stamps of the series.
On a stamp with a face value of 5.75 lei, an elegant bay horse with a glossy skin walks slowly through a green meadow. It is difficult to determine the breed of the horse, the inscription on the stamp tells the inquisitive researchers only that it is Equus caballus - that is, a domestic horse.
The stamps of the series were issued in small sheets of 9 stamps and one label. The lucky owners of the bottom of the horse sheet will get not only a stamp with a horse, but also a label with a foal.
Also, by post of Moldova, first day covers and maximum cards for all stamps of the series were prepared.
